GUIDE FOR AUTHORS
Authors must follow the Subtantive Requirements and Manuscript Guidelines below
General Informations
- Submitted article must be an original and has been not published yet in other journals or any publisher
- The entire process of the journal is facilitated merely through the OJS system on journal http: https://jhii.fisip.unila.ac.id/ojs/index.php/jhii/index
- Online registration will be charged at no cost.
Manuscript Guidelines/ Writing Style and Format
- Language: Article could be written in Indonesian or English which is using correct punctuation and arranging efectively. We recommend that non-native speakers have their manuscripts proofread.
- Format: The file should be in Microsoft Office (.doc/.docx). Others format will not be accepted.
- Structure: The structure of the manuscript should arranged by title, authors, abstract, and keywords and the main text should consist of: Introduction, Method, Result and Discussion, and Conclusion; followed by Acknowledgement and References. Biographies and Acknowledgments: Collate acknowledgements in a separate section at the end of the article before the references and do not, therefore, include them on title page, as a footnote to the title or otherwise. List here those individuals who provided help during the research (e.g., providing language help, or proof reading the article, etc.).
- Paper and layout: Article should be prepared in A4 paper (21cm x 29.7cm) and putting on 3 cm for left inside margin and 2 cm for right, top and bottom margin.
- Section Headings: Heading 1 should be written in title case, small caps, left aligned, bold, 12 Times New Roman, single spaced, and Roman numbered followed by dot. Heading 2: should be written title case, left aligned, bold, 11 Times New Roman, 1,15 spaced, small caps numbered followed by a. dot. Heading 3 should be written title case, left aligned, italic, 11 Times New Roman, 1,15 spaced, numbered by number followed by closed bracket 1). Heading level 4 is not recommended, however, it could still be accepted with the format of: sentence case, left indent 7,5 mm, hanging indent 7,5 mm, italic, 10 Times new Roman, single spaced, numbered by small cap followed by closed bracket.a)
- Tipography: The title and abstract should be in one column as well the main text should be in one column. Title should be less than 12 words, title case, small caps, centered, bold, font type Times New Roman, font size 14, and single spaced. Abstract contains neither pictures nor tables, justified, italic in 10 Times New Roman, single spaced, and should not exceed 200 words. Keywords should be justified, 10 Times new Roman and single spaced, it should not be more than 6 words. The main text of the writing should be in one column with 1,15 cm column spacing, justified, font size 11 Times New Romans, first line indent 7,5 mm, and 1,15 spaced.
- Pages: The manuscript should cover minimum 15 pages (contain between 5000-8000 words) including embedded figures, tables, and bibliography contain no appendix. No need to alter page number in this template as the page number will be reordered at preprinting process.
- Figures and Table: Figures including charts, diagrams, line drawings, web pages/screenshots, and photographic images should be clear when it later printed. Caption should be set under the table, justified, and numbered in 10 Times New Romans and single spaced. A caption should comprise a brief title (not on the figure itself) and a description of the illustration. Keep text in the illustrations themselves to a minimum but explain all symbols and abbreviations used. The lettering on the artwork should be clearly readable and in a proportional measure and should have a finished, printed size of 7 pt for normal text and no smaller than 6 pt for subscript and superscript characters. Figures should have a brief description in the main body of text. For layouting purpose, please provide the respective high resolution figure (≥300dpi) separately in .tif/.jpg/.jpeg within a particular folder apart from the manuscript. Moreover, kindly avoid mentioning position of figure/table e.g. “figure below” or “table as follow” because the position will be rearranged in layouting process. DO NOT put boxes around your figures to enclose them.
- Reference: The article should be refer to reliable sources, arranged in American Psychological Association (APA) style 7th edition as the example below shows, alphabetically. JHII prefers the bodynote system in its article and follows American Psychological Association (APA) style 7th edition consistently. The editorial team recommends that authors use the reference manager tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, EndNotes, and etc. It ought to prioritise recent journal, books, other researches going for books of the last 10 years
